Did you know, if you set your cups and dishes upside down to keep the dust off the surfaces you use, that's lolely a throwback from the survivors of the dust bowl.

@KillerMule I grew up pretty poor so I thought it was to keep roaches/mice out of your cups/bowls. Also on the off-chance a cup or something wasn't completely dry it was allowed to drain out.

@Mumu My mother always did this, for some of the reasons your saying, but she hated the dust the most. I hated the spiders in our cereal boxes the most.
