       After a thorough inside and outside audit with my  thermal camera (FLIR), things look pretty good for my thermal envelope. (did not check the attic, however). Interestingly enough, the most obvious heat loss (aside from a wall panel and roof area missing insulation) is along the bottom of the building slab. #insulation #energyefficiency #housing

       @ai6yr Concrete is cold. 🥶 If I had unlimited funds, I'd invest in under-floor heating. Hands down the coziest way of heating a house.

       Here's a FLIR image of something cold in a warm room; this in fact is damp drywall mud on the corner/ceiling. In a leak situation, you'd see a cold spot behind the wall or the wall itself wet. #flir #thermalimaging

       @mjausson @ai6yr You don’t want that unless the house is really well insulated. I lived in a place that had floor heating, but lots of single pane glass walls and an uninsulated beam ceiling. In the winter, we were all barefoot, but wearing sweaters and freezing.

       Major heat leakage point in my house. The purple spot on the left is "cold"... on the other side of the wall is my electrical box (cavity is not insulated, obviously). The cold air pooling at the bottom of the picture is because there's an open outlet cover (connected into that same area) allowing cold air to drain into the house. I will be putting insulating foam outlet covers (UL listed) on those. #flir #insulation #energy #energyaudit #energyefficiency
