       It just hit me like a ton of bricks just how Mac-like #Ubuntu is. In literally 2 clicks I had a Dock without all the dumb inconsistencies that Apple has introduced.At the same time, I couldn't be a Mac user because macOS window management isn't just bad, it's painful.

       @jonyoder it also has awful DMG-like apps with Snap.I just battled for over an hour trying to get VLC to use hw acceleration, and although I did have to install the libs, I also had to snap remove it to install the APT version which oh, just works.

       @jonyoder Interesting. Been forever since I’ve used the latest #Ubuntu (I’m using old #Lubuntu on an old #ThinkPad rn) but I’ve found that modern desktop OSes seem to copy #Ubuntu, not the other way around, even #Windows11

       @mmu_man Yeah, snap isn't perfect, for sure. I've had similar experiences with flatpak, too. I much prefer apt to either one... it just works.
