yes, I decided to look up parts on a rather expensive day, the point being that I should be able to make an all-rounder PC build at any time I need it1300€ is not what I would call accessible ‒ still over the minimum wage here, so not a good result at all

The biggest pain point is BY far AM5 motherboards. Wayyyyyyyy too stressful of a choice. There’s just no way around it, they just force you to shoot up your budget. Feels like things keep getting slowly better, but still: this is not a healthy market.Yep, that means GPUs are not the worst part. Still not doing well tho. I find myself thinking everything should be at least 100€ cheaper. At least it’s not 2021.On the bright side, CPUs are doing pretty well (easy part to cut some budget on if you’re sure you won’t compile a lot and that a cheaper part won’t bottleneck your GPU), CPU coolers have improved phenomenally (no need for Noctua anymore! 🎉) and SSDs are much more reasonable than they were just back three years ago.

@xerz Yeah AM5 is rather expensive.I guess the only argument is it could be a good long term investment, but rather than going from AM4 to AM5 I invested instead in a 5800x3d which was cheaper than an AM5 Ryzen 5 and AM5 mobo, and DDR5 too.

@Ryanteck yeah, if you think you’re better off with that money today just go ahead and stick with AM4/DDR4… although I presume that advice will age by the end of this year
