       The six foot rule was always simplistic, and insufficient to protect. Risk of infection from Covid is related to both distance and duration of exposure.#COVID https://www.euronews.com/next/2023/12/29/avoiding-covid-19-was-about-more-than-just-keeping-2-metres-apart-study-finds

       @rchusid Outside you can take the risk not to mask and only keep a distance. Indoors aerosols will linger in the air.

       @ABScientist Yes, inside most buildings with public access you are not going to get enough distance to protect you.

       @rchusid simplistic rules exposed as hard truths are always dangerous, in 2020, at least in France, we saw whole schools reorganize classes every 15mn to go around the 15mn rules, without any doubt made everything incredibly worse.

       @ABScientist @rchusid I wish I could do more than watch with sad bemusement, as magical thinking continues to pervade the establishment-spread COVID misinformation.People don't want to know that viruses don't obey stupid "loopholes" that feel like excuses invented by a kindergartener for why they didn't really break the rules.

       @MySideIsHumanity @rchusid It is difficult to exclude all social interaction from one's life. So you can try and go for the options that are less risky.Masks are a problem for most people in the Netherlands, so if you want social interactions you need to take a bit of risk and meet people outdoors.

       @ABScientist @MySideIsHumanity Outside definitely safest. If see people inside, I limit to small numbers and have both Hepa filters running and MERV 13 filter in HVAC. Opening windows also helps

       @rchusid @ABScientist Ditto, except Corsi-Rosenthal rather than HVAC. 👍
