I'm watching this show called "Pantheon". In the show, they talk about the dangers of A.I., opting for U.I. instead (uploaded intelligence). They uploaded people into the net. Cool premise. In the show Israel and Iran are at war. The show was released and cancelled 2 years ago.

@xeroforhire I just read a sci-fi story about a world government consisting of 12 uploaded brains, of 12 volunteer scientists. It was the beginning of the end of humanity.

@Viking @xeroforhire reading about the 12 original titans of Dune? Always go w/an odd number so you can break any deadlocks, obviously the author was playing w/the apostles motif & forgot to write a Jesus figure in as the tiebreaker.I got to get back to finishing S2 of Pantheon but I wasn't in a hurry b/c it's dragging its feet & it's a total rehash of other deep cyberpunk materials. And there's "Upload", a 3 season so far live action tech lampoon/thriller about a digital afterlife corp

@Klaatu I like Upload, but it's a different kind of transhumanism show. It's funny but also a tragic reminder that people have no real moral compass anymore. The obviously atheist/nihilistic motifs make every situation hopeless for our main characters in the show, as we watch them drag themselves from one bad situation to another. They're looking for happiness that they'll never find, and it feels like it's designed that way. Funny, but also not funny.

@xeroforhire It is some old science from 1940s or 1950s.Either from this collection: https://www.amazon.com/16th-Science-Fiction-MEGAPACK%C2%AE-Classic-ebook/dp/B08VCC78X2Or from the 15th megapack.Sorry I don't remember the exact name of the short story, I probably should take some notes.
