@Sabex got the app version off F-Droid. Gave it a webdav share on my nas box for backup and sharing between my devices. @SirLuke yeah I've done that with ultraedit for decades. The advantage here is it's much faster and it can scan through formats cleanly where your tools may be looking at it as a basic file being searched which could have erroneous hits.

@srini nope cuz I haven't been to China or Taiwan where they're doing all these 3D billboards. You have to figure it's like the scene in the Tom Cruise pre crime movie where he goes through the mall and all the holographic advertising is targeted specifically at him. After 10 minutes or so you're not going to care anymore. This is why people in these videos aren't acting surprised they've seen it already. Though in some videos there's a bunch of tourists taking photos of it on their phones.

@NoBeret @wtdrisco well outside of Chinese bullshit figures, they take the field strength available at a given distance from an average wattage transmitter and compare that to the matching field strength sensitivity of the antenna plus the amplifier gain and say that's how little of a signal needs to be present to be detected and amplified given a clear line-of-sight shot. Then it's how far from the tower in miles do you get that small signal.

@Viking @weeniewawa well I hope you didn't pay too much for that vacuum sealer they usually go on sale for a decent discount. Most of them have a vacuum hose access port, so you can get the add-on that lets you seal canning jars for about $13. But if sealing a jar is all you want to do you can get battery powered jar-only sealers for $26.

@MrMaxPowers247 @yukiame @dytha it was on a Coast to Coast AM with George Noorey episode I think this week. It was with that doctor that they have on every month or two that does a lot of call-ins and pushes his Vitamin packs. I was removing commercials from episodes and gave it a listen. So I think it was this week but it could have been earlier between Jan 5th and December 13th. So just search backwards thru their episode guest list

@vic @bartholin @Mitsu could be rabid too especially after that charging attack. This seems like a common reoccurring pest incident so either shoot it with a .22, hit it with a arrow, or just sharpen a long pointy stick and impale that vampire once and for all. You could call animal control but it looks like they're not releasing them far enough away

@bartholin classic B movie, I forgot he traveled to 2024. I forget which came first but there was some controversy because it's very much like an early Twilight Zone episode (same writer?) except there a pilot's supersonic boom puts him in a world of super slow moving time (1hr to him=1sec to us?). For drama he can't move things & uses seat belts to rig a truck to brake before it runs over his toddler son. 2nd boom brings him back.

CARB board was created to solve California's air pollution smog problem (in L.A.) & car makers didn't wanna make custom cars for Cali so they hyped compliance as a sales feature. Same with useless (USDOT said so) DRLs, Canadian law req'd 'em, so US car models made in Ontario plants got 'em 1st as a "feature".Short bed trucks means you can charge more $ to get a long bed, extended cab, or both.

@CattleBaron @mrsaturday @kaia Farmers don't really care much b/c they're driving on their own land & often use $7-10k side by side ATVs w/a cargo bed to get around. They're also street legal w/o a plate unless a town ordinance specifically bans them, most towns don't have 1. Tractors only need a slow moving vehicle (<40mph) triangle on the back.Farmers do prize old pickups for fast in town cargo trips b/c they're easy to repair, cost way less vs a new truck, & unlike new 1s last 20-40 years.
