       After reading into the ISO:IEC 9899:2018 C Standard, I‘m hesitant to claim that C is a much simpler or smaller language than Common Lisp which is often ridiculed for its 1100+ Standard pages). Not mentioning the recently released C23 additions (which are actually good but will likely not be relevant before 2045).What does the Fediverse say?#C #CommonLisp

       @louis LISP programmer I worked for in 1984-5 thought that he had found the answer. Work was in MSFT Basic on Z80 in CP/M. C programmers were just happy to have found an answer. He’s long gone, surprisingly the company is still going.

       @louis I think the major divide between C and CL is that C has a runtime but it's a minimal interface to the OS. CL has a  kitchen-sink runtime and garbage collection really turns people off out of the gate (unfairly).
