The Roaring Twenties, what the actual fuck!!!!!!!!"So when, in eighth grade, Maggie’s body began to shrink, the town in general approved. When she was 13, her doctor had prescribed Victoza, a GLP-1 agonist that was an early predecessor of Ozempic and Wegovy. Six months later, when Maggie underwent bariatric surgery, she had already become noticeably thinner."Maggie’s obesity was categorized as “severe,” making her eligible for the most intensive treatments. [ ] Maggie started taking Victoza (early ozempic predecessor) around then, stopped before her surgery, then restarted after the surgery didn’t lead to the dramatic weight loss everyone had hoped for. With the combination, she began shedding pounds. For her part, Erika was grateful to finally be able to entrust the care of her daughter to someone who listened to them. Around the same time, she began taking Victoza for weight loss too.https://www.thecut.com/article/weight-loss-drugs-ozempic-kids-childhood-obesity.html

@Flick It's about to become the norm. And all by design. The decline of Western civilization, right before our eyes. I'm mean, it was like last year or something, I read that a 13 year old girl in the UK that was gonna get new knees, because hers were completely bust due to long term morbid obesity. It was happening more and more too apparently, draining the NHS. The alternative apparently is a drug that does god knows what to the body, but at least makes sure you don't eat, so you'll loose a bit of weight (the actual current data isn't impressive one bit btw). I fucking hate this shit show we're watching/are apart of. Doctors cutting 13/14 year olds stomach out and shit, aren't doctors. They're frauds in it for the money. It's sickening. And because it doesn't work shove evil pills down the kids throat instead of telling the parents to stop feeding these kids chemical waste. But then again, can we really blame the parents, when governments have done everything to make sure we the people got hooked and addicted and worst of all completely dependent on this chemical waste sold as food?

@LadyMont My mom is convinced that Oprah and Kelly Clarkson are taking Ozempic. Kelly is rich so she could hire a private chef. I honestly think it’s stupid to take this huge risk.

@ChasingWaterfalls Oprah did hire private chefs. She still couldn’t manage it, because her addiction is so strong. And aside from ozempic they’re probably taking a second drug too sadly, like that woman from Australia who died, because she wanted to shed “a few pounds” more like 20 at least like a month before her daughters wedding, so she would “look good”. She didn’t make it to the wedding. How bout that for looking good. Talk about risk.

@LadyMont I want to lose weight, but I won’t ever consider using a drug to do so as I know what it’s like to have a health issue that removes joy from your life. I’ve read the stories about women who say they won’t ever be able to enjoy food again due to their permanent condition that was caused by Ozempic. Food is such a huge part of our lives, I can’t even imagine not being able to enjoy it in the least, or even have a nice dinner with family and friends. The medical industry is so against us, and many people do not understand this.

@ChasingWaterfalls Glad to hear you wouldn’t. I don’t know how big you are, but I’d consider the true necessity of it first of all. When I look at some women primarily around me irl thinking they need to loose weight because they have a bit of love handles and a bit of pouchy stomach, which is essential for a healthy hormonal balance in women, and why a couple of the women I know are a hormonal mess due to lack of body fat and nutritional intake, it makes me mad. Of course it’s easy for me to say, seeing I’ve been pretty much the same weight since I was 13 years old (aside from a few years when I was a bit less and more muscular due to a husky mix I had) and even through my severe sugar addiction I stayed the same weight somehow. But for the love of god these drugs and imo weight loss surgery as well needs to die off. But so does whatever the fuck that was done to food and the way food is viewed. Also lifestyle. It’s all too hectic. Too many people are depressed. Its all a mess.

@LadyMont American foods are permitted to have so much junk in them and I know that this has caused health issues for me. But, as soon as you start talking about it, people dismiss you as some sort of crazy conspiracy theorist. I do need to lose weight as I’m in the obese category now. I had an ex therapist actually tell me I look fine when I said I need to lose weight, and while BMI charts aren’t perfect, I know I do need to lose weight so I can feel better. If I can get close to the top of the “healthy” range, I’ll be happy. And honestly, being heavier has made me more invisible to men, which is nice. I have struggled in the past when I’ve lost weight as I get more unwanted attention, which can really agitate me. I wish I was better at brushing it off, but I’m not.

@LadyMont @Flick Obesity is starting even in the womb. Babies are getting bigger and bigger (in America, formula has corn syrup in it). I've seen arguments with mom's with GIANT babies who say "he came out at 18 pounds so it makes sense he's 22 pounds at 4 months!" Except babies are getting bigger in the womb too because of mom's diet, leading to more and more C-sections. Plus you have a giant competition when you have a baby on who's is biggest. I recently saw a mom post "my 3 month old baby is 20 pounds, the doctor said they don't see that until a year usually!" Like it's something to be proud of. Comparing growth charts too. This leads to a lot of parents forcing their baby's to eat more than they want, or even more unhealthy things, to keep up with the competition. Not to mention, like you said, the abysmal crap that's in foods. Then there's a fact of healthy eating being pushed too hard on babies. Like, you shouldn't give your baby any seasonings. Then they don't eat because mashed broccoli tastes like mush, then the parent gets worried and starts feeding them Mac and cheese every night just to get them to eat. I mean there's so many factors leading to these issues, it's insane. And when I have seen mom's try to talk about it, they get shot down for "shaming" fat children. Even though it's a serious thing that leads to a variety of health problems.

@LisbonMuse @LadyMont @Flick Don’t mention the vaccine schedule, because the human body is totally simple and understood. Why, they estimate we understand less than 1% of the process going on inside our bodies. So, it stands to reason the immune system, which is super duper simple, should be 100% understood, it only has to distinguish between self-cells and bad-cells in a constantly changing environment, so it is easily understood by the dumbest of doctors.

@LisbonMuse @LadyMont @Flick I notice at home, since the diet stopped being more traditional and home grown/caught that there is a hell of a lot of weight gain compared to the past. Women could be hefty enough but the kind of weight that comes from multiple pregnancies kind, while some of us are certainly taller than others we tend to be on the shorter and stockier side of things, these days it’s a different type of weight.

@HebrideanHecate @LadyMont @Flick Yes definitely there was a difference! Some bodies are heavier naturally - like my sister did a ton of sports and exercise and was always "heavier." She was definitely more in shape than me but I was naturally petite and she was naturally bigger even with all the exercise she did. Plus when you have kid's your body does change. But the obesity nowadays surpasses anything like natural body differences or post-birth. It's insane.

@Maud_Gonner @LadyMont @Flick @LisbonMuse Yes, stuff like that does cause a body fuck up later on.My partner says he was fat as a teen, I’ve seen the photos, I’d say not, he is six foot 2, but more the kind of slight puppy fat that girls also sometimes have and then shed when another couple years go past. But in his school they did bully him, that though was just another excuse to have a go at him as opposed to the thing itself. As a result though he developed an eating disorder and his mother was an alcoholic she never bothered or cared, the only person he says who did try questioning him was a friend’s mother, he can see now that he ended up very underweight as a result at the time. Some people just also have more of an easy ability to gain too much compared to others, genes again.
