@Wolven Yes to all of this, and:Special "producer" titles are about getting a cut of the gross, not the net. I'm delighted that a writer negotiated a Hollywood deal that got them an actual piece of the action, instead of the Hollywood-accounting "we lost money" bullshit.

@Wolven I'm thinking with that man in the lead, who is unspeakably sexy, that the whole tenor of the character will change. If they're responsible, they'll have to work hard to *not* make him sexy, at which point: why did you hire this guy? (I know why. We all know why.) So... we'll see!

@Wolven Oooh yeah that's gonna be a tough one for me -- I want to like this but to me Murderbot's always been *clearly* femme. Robot femme, but still. So that's going to give me a LOT of cognitive dissonance right off the bat. It'll be interesting to see how they handle it.

@OrionKidder humans react to SecUnit as attractive a few times when it's pretending to be human, so if Skarsgård can pull off that layered anxiety and "ew don't touch me" it could be great

@Wolven I never got those vibes, but I'm probably just not remembering it. I do think the "don't touch me vibes" would be fun for him to play. I can picture that. I hope the arc of the character is not learning to love sex, though. He's ace and NB, and he needs to stay that way.

@Wolven @OrionKidder Wouldn’t be surprised if he could. He doesn’t seem to have an ego that gets in the way and will have no issues with having to maintain an image.He reminds me of Peter Stormare in that he takes roles he wants, rather than ones that can catapult his career to new heights. If he wanted to he could make more and be more high profile.I think he will at the very least do his best to do what the director wants.

@Wolven I was also perplexed by him as the lead but after I considered it for a bit I thought they'll probably be able to make him up to look different enough to pass as Murderbot.

@Wolven I thought Sara Ramirez or Leo Sheng would be perfect, but Vico Ortiz is another great choice.My worry about Skarsgård is that it might take the show into a much paler direction than the books have described. Most of the human universe is non-white in the books, so unless the secbots are supposed to be paler to distinguish them from the regular humans, it's a worrying first step.
