       So the normally quiet Mexican Consulate on Ashland in Chicago had protestors lined up around the block.  My Spanish is no bueno, but it seems like they want protection for or from Texcaltitlan?

       Seriously, I am intrigued as to what they were protesting.  Also, it’s in the mid 30’a here and the mobile taqueria and Agua Fresca/ chicarrones stands were nowhere to be found.  Which they are always there! WTF is going on?  The last several weeks I’ve seen loads of families with small kids wandering around with strollers packed with garbage bags of belongings.  Today it was a ghost town, save for the picketers at the consulate.  Got to see the encampment in Union Park hasn’t moved in weeks.
