Last month the oldest Human Resourse asked where the ghost stories were. She was handed a book of “feminist ghost stories” which had few ghosts and tales of women done wrong and how they may or may not have become ghosts to get their revenge. Needless to say, we are pretty much done with the library, with the exception of the book sale room to make our own at home. This crushes me, as my kids are total bookworms like me.

@SirLuke I am well aware. We have been scouring used book sales and buying books on the cheap to have a home library since the libraries and bookstores have gone to this. Although, the ALA has had its issues since its founding. Same indoctrination strategies, different decade.

Seriously, I am intrigued as to what they were protesting. Also, it’s in the mid 30’a here and the mobile taqueria and Agua Fresca/ chicarrones stands were nowhere to be found. Which they are always there! WTF is going on? The last several weeks I’ve seen loads of families with small kids wandering around with strollers packed with garbage bags of belongings. Today it was a ghost town, save for the picketers at the consulate. Got to see the encampment in Union Park hasn’t moved in weeks.

@NoBeret this was Christmas Eve in NW Indiana. Our local boots on the ground news guy. The begging on corners and parking lots is everywhere now. The few hotels are full and the cops are being called out all of the time for fighting, theft, drugs and prostitution there. It’s nuts.
