       Ffs, kick me in the shins and call me George. This is just getting worse and worse. And it's not just the US that is failing Ukraine. EU, NATO have demonstrated serious weaknesses, e.g. the lack of full force reaction against Russia and the fact that support and loyalty expires quickly for some members. If the aid stops, and Russia wins? Who will be next? The Baltic States? We don't have time for Republican powerplay bullshit.        @sarahbeck @anderspuck Okay, George... 😉The aid is not going to stop, but we really don't have time to give the Russians these freebies where they can get a break here and there. We were already slow to give the Ukrainians the hardware and aid they needed and still need. At least Scholz has indicated that he's willing to give more when others hesitate. I did not expect this from him. Time to send those Taurus cruise missiles. 😉

       @sarahbeck @anderspuck History will definitely judge the countries that abandoned Ukraine in its hour of need. And so will I. It's a shame to see a number of democracies showing lackluster support for a fellow young democracy under attack by its imperialist neighbor.We'll see if Europe will pick up the slack if the US falters due to its internal politics.

       @VikingChieftain @sarahbeck @anderspuck in some way they have to.But the US will lose a lot of influence. They will be more and more isolated.The Republicans with their stance on Ukraine and Israel are likely the biggest threat to America's standing in the world.If it weren't for a certain type of condescending attitude China might actually drive a wedge between Europe and the US.

       @kravietz @VikingChieftain @anderspuck It depends on who wins in the end, I guess. I'm not so sure anymore, that the US and the West will win against Russia or China in a direct or indirect war. There are strong forces within our countries threatening to make us selfimplode.

       @sarahbeck @kravietz @anderspuck Russia wouldn't stand a chance in a conventional war against NATO. As for China... As long as it doesn't become a land battle, you would be able to push them back after their initial advances in the Pacific.

       @VikingChieftain @kravietz @anderspuck But that all depends on a strong NATO existing in the future. Would NATO survive Trump as president? Or a US civil war? We're not going to be able to put up much of a fight if we can't find a way to deal with our internal messes and stand together in this.
