@BrodieOnLinux when Elon transforms X into a financial convenience/surveillance platform, none of this will matter.the ads thing is a distraction. Twitter/X was always the third tier for marketing spend. They've never been profitable to begin with.

@Fenrir I was very much in favour of cleaning up Twitter early on, the platform was a hellscape of bad management and clear political control however it was also financially viable. Now it's flipped that and it's on the verge of collapsing

I would recommend you read the 10Q and 10K leading up into the purchase of Twitter. This company WAS NOT profitable and was on track to be insolvent by late 2023 early 2024. The mass firing of staff made the company close to break-even and apparently there is huge refactoring of code and simplifying of the the stack going on that reduced overhead by a huge margin as well. Most Wall Street people expected that the company was profitable by Spring 2023 or Summer 2023. This would never have happened under the old management, it takes a real fucking prick to tard wrangle the Silicon Valley scum and Elon gets hell for it. Just look at all of the big names, real fucking pricks, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Ballmer, and Jeff Bezos, most of these people ended up being anti-human monsters or just checked the fuck out onto their Yacht banging bimbos all day. Twitter was easily one of worst run companies in Silicon Valley on several fronts, Elon has done wonders clearing that shithole up, the problem is that Twitter contains an awful community warped by a half decade of political control.
