Something the "just let AI draft your docs" crowd doesn't seem to get:It's harder to turn "bad docs" into "good docs" than it is to write good docs from scratch.Even putting aside LLMs are trained to (re)produce the "average" (and, how great are "average" docs out there?), your "bad docs" anchor you. You are primed to "fix" the odd word in place, but you now have to *actively work* to "envision" better. You didn't trust yourself (were too lazy) to write. You thought editing would be easier?

@sarah11918 this may be easily extrapolated from documentation to say code and by replacing "AI-generated" with just "poorly designed"while I usually argue for incremental development rather than redesigning everything from scratch every time, the quality of the foundation really determines top duality of the entire building

@amiloradovsky For sure, and the *anchoring* from a shoddy foundation is a huge problem. I KNOW I'm allowed to completely edit and revise, and it's still a struggle to remind myself to do so when called for, and not get stuck in what's in front of me.
