Absolutely love how the Nordic countries are standing together against Tesla’s stupidly stubborn refusal to enter collective agreements to ensure workers’ rights. Now, one of the large pension groups in Denmark have dumped their Tesla shares:https://fortune.com/europe/2023/12/07/elon-musk-sweden-labor-union-tesla-court-pension-fund/#unions #workersrights #tesla

@tanyakaroli Unions are parasites.Musk's point is simple: your labor is worth what the market says it is worth.Unions want to add costs and pass them on to everyone else.Just look at what they did to the American auto industry.

@amerika no, unions want to ensure decent conditions for workers. Who is the everyone else you talk of? The wealthy? They can afford it, no reason to lie awake for them.Besides, unions are vastly different here than in the U.S. (among other things, they have no weird history of entanglements with the mafia).

@amerika you clearly don’t know much about how much unions have meant for workers here in Scandinavia

@amerikaI'm a pretty big fan of free markets, but the argument for them depends on assumptions that aren't true for labour: The cost of losing a job can be moving houses, retraining etc.The cost of losing a worker is relatively small to a large employer. The negotiation field is tilted in favour of the rich. Unions tilt it back.If you're dead fixated on total wealth you might be right. I'm the kind of guy who'd rather see ten well fed people than nine starving and one obese.@tanyakaroli
