No one would ask a virtual influencer, "Paid post?", huh? 😏Every single time I talk about liking a product or a service, invariably someone (or at least a few people) asks me: "Paid post?". Not that I have anything against others doing "paid posts", but I'm tired of responding with, "No. My words and opinions are not for sale". I even wrote about the evolution of 'paid posts', in the context of social media and the persistent questions I get: https://tinyurl.com/paid4post 1/2

2/2 The irony is that people ask, 'Paid post?' only with humans. They wouldn't ask that question to 'virtual influencers' who are paid more than 'human influencers'. Considering the entire existence of a 'virtual influencer' is imaginary, that they get paid even more than real humans for being an influencer, and that people more easily accept 'paid posts' from imaginary entities and deeply suspect the motives of real humans is quite an evolution we find our species in.

@beastoftraal Without the #AI context, you might think this was a money laundering operation. Or some insider deal where money moves semi-legally between 'friendly entities' but even with context, I have so many questions about this whole trend...1. More than 200k followers? Who? Why? How?2. How are clients okay with such low engagement numbers?3. Why are people commenting on these posts?4. How do clients even get sold on such snake oil?I genuinely don't understand what is happening...
