After trying to sign up for an account at my ISP for more than 10-times without success, dropping a few specific characters from my password, finally got me passed the 'Unknown error, please try again later' message that occurs several steps later in the registration process 🙃️. Even the customer service has no idea what causes the message and they cannot access their own systems 🤡️. Wow, I wonder what the back-end is of these accounts...#Telenet #ISP #passwords #Belgium

@dylanvanassche Oof, I recognise this... Also where registration allows all characters just fine but logging in doesn't, so you're locked out of your account. Took me a few password resets to figure out what was up...

@bart @dylanvanassche A while ago on some website I could log in and use everything normally with the randomly generated password I was using, but some obscure functionality (which looked very out of place, it was probably a super old piece) that wanted my password to confirm something always said wrong password. At some point I looked in the network inspector and saw that with the way they submitted the password, as http form or something the "&" character in my password wasn't escaped (1/2)

@bart Yeah it sucks, especially when they encourage you to put a special character in there, for good reasons...
