@len @postmarketOS @shiftphones SHIFT6mq is one of the #linuxphones but there are many more of them, I have a Oneplus 6 2nd hand here. However, it won't have #fwupd support as the vendor does not supply the firmware to #LVFS. @shiftphones on the other hand is maybe a bit more expensive, but you get support from the vendor regarding fwupd, but also repairability and sustainability.

@len @postmarketOS @shiftphones I understand what you mean, but not all of them are in the same price range. I picked up a Oneplus 6 for ~100 euro. 2nd hand, but in a great condition. It doesn't have to be brand new, that's the beauty of @postmarketOS compared to Android which is waste after 2-3 years.The PP consists of the cheapest hardware you can find, aimed at boosting the eco system which it really did well. However, I cannot use it as daily driver: speed, battery, etc. are lacking

@PublicLewdness Exactly, I don't need a lot of power. I only need calls/texts and maybe 1-3x/day a browser session of a few minutes. In exchange I need at least a few days of battery life, not 24h or a bit more.

@alex_m The 2 devices you see are actually your headphones in Bluetooth HFP mode (with mic, horrible sound) and Bluetooth A2DP (excellent audio, various codecs). HFP is also known as Handsfree Profile. I agree that it is a bit confusing in UI, but I don't see a better way either

@craftyguy @bart @proycon I'm impressed how well it works, Google Assistant is horrible in recognizing English here, Numen seems to do a better job :)

@drewdevault I have been trying to do that since the #PinePhone. It is still my main goal :) Calls and texts are really complicated I'm afraid, a lot of moving parts: firmware, kernel, #ModemManager, proprietary protocols, ALSA UCM, UIs, etc.The last breakage regarding SDM845 devices was a change in #Alpine edge (which is fine, Alpine cannot test #postmarketOS things), but that's why there are stable releases. For relying on this as a daily driver, I strongly recommend them.

After trying to sign up for an account at my ISP for more than 10-times without success, dropping a few specific characters from my password, finally got me passed the 'Unknown error, please try again later' message that occurs several steps later in the registration process 🙃️. Even the customer service has no idea what causes the message and they cannot access their own systems 🤡️. Wow, I wonder what the back-end is of these accounts...#Telenet #ISP #passwords #Belgium

@agx Really important to see these features being integrated! Have you looked also already at Advanced Mobile Location of the EU. I did in the past because it suppose to be open but never got the actual SMS number or HTTP endpoint for each country. The spec is open though ans mandantory for compliance in EU: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Mobile_LocationSailfish OS, Android and iOS have it but is closed source...
