       @BrodieOnLinux Legally it's not, but I have no issue calling something designed to extract an insanely inflated subscription from people who either didn't notice how expensive it was, or weren't technically literate, a scam

       @awooo I don't like watering down the term scam to just mean something I don't like. I think you're stupid if you buy VOSS water or a gucci handbag, but it's not a scam you just make bad financial decisions. A scam is what someone like Sam Bankman-Fried did

       @BrodieOnLinux @awooo The difference here: these apps (Simple Mobile Tools) were open-source until very recently and they are installed on thousands of devices of family members or less tech-savvy people by people they trust. Zipo bought this trust and hundreds of thousands of installations and now starts to aggressively monetarize these apps. There is a good chance people will fall for it - which sucks 🤔
