Wrote some Terraform tonight with GitHub Copilot.I didn't hate it, but it did get some pretty basic parameters wrong.

@mttaggart I’ve been trying it out this past week. Sometimes it gets things very much right, but I still have to double-check everything it does because it has made gross errors.I think it’ll be quite some time before “AI” “steals all our jobs” (coding-wise, at least).Perhaps it would be different if it had the specific context in which I’m working, but that does involve a lot of things that can’t be gleaned simply by any text analysis. Still need a knowledgeable human involved.

@LukeF Yeah this is very much a boilerplate-maker, but it's very hit-or-miss.Given the source material, my sense is that the accuracy of the code will diminish the further you get from JavaScript frontend coding (e.g. React).

@mttaggart Yeah, my experience is that it gets it 90% right but I always need to do a proper review to fix the mistakes.
