I continued the pinhole / digital camera experiments today. I thought the results were better.#photography

@robertpi interesting!have you ever tried a real pinhole setup with say, a cookie tin, or an oatmeal box, and a piece of photo paper as a positive? it's a lot of fun.you can shoot a frame on film of the positive, and then when you print it, it's now a negative, and looks true to life, but when you pinhole, they come out as positive images because of the virtue and dynamics of the pinhole mechanics.

This time I made the lens using 300 g/m2 black cardboard. By placing the cardboard on a magazine when making the hole, I managed to get a very small hole. I cleared the back of the whole with a craft knife.I discovered a pin on the extension tube was lifting the cardboard and creating light leakage, I fixed that by cutting a hole for a pin with a craft knife and taping it down.

Postscript: Why? In this age it's easy to take beautiful sharp images with modern equipment. As we drown in these kind of images, I've come to find images from yesteryear with their grain and other technical faults charming.Experimenting with home made lens for a digital camera is a compromise. You avoid the expense of using real film, yet still give yourself an interesting set of technical constrains, that will hopefully give you imperfect yet charming photos.
