I am out of the running..... can't compete with the Olympian @Sydneykaye01 But I am going to post a few step by steps for @LoveAlmonds I'm doing the topiaries first, outside because this neighborhood goes ballistic for holiday decorating.

These topiaries are the bomb. They are so versatile! I still can’t believe I snagged em for just thirty bucks! So I pulled out the box of lights and got them up first, two strings each. This is a double topiary—with two bushes twining round the center pole. For Halloween and Thanksgiving, I only went around one bush with a garland. For Christmas I have enough lights and greenery to decorate both.

I was very blessed to find greenery that was abundant, simple, and —cheap!! I got this entire tub of garland off FBMP for only $15 bucks….and what’s more, I got the rolling storage bin that they were stored in, too! That’s a $27 dollar cost in of itself. So, you can say, I stole it!

There’s a metal pipe in the middle of each topiary that is, of course, hollow. I put a zip tie around the top of the pole to affix a bow to, but the ends of the greenery I just fished down the pipe. It held the garland in place so I could firmly wind it around the bush. It took two of them to make it all the way round.

It looked kind of bare with just the one bush done, but once the second one was wound around the pipe, it really looked festive. I am not done yet, but it is actually enough that I could leave it alone.You will never hear me accused of being a minimalist, though. My daughter calls my decorating style, “maximalist” so I guess you know what that means. MORE!!

I got 14 garlands and the storage tub for my $15 and I’m going to get $15 worth up for my decorating! I hammer small nails around the doorway and then I layer the garland, two deep, to make a green archway of the front door.I can tell the berries are gonna get smashed from opening and closing the storm door. Dammit! I may have to wire them back or something.I’ll worry about that later.

I am so sorry I haven’t posted on this till now! I had a huge work deadline that caused a few 14-hr days for me this week, plus my mom needed to go to the vascular specialist. I didn’t have time till today to finish the job.Today, I added some fun vintage garlands to the topiaries. I got them on ebay, making sure to buy sets of four since the topiaries each need two garlands hooked together to go round them once.These are the garlands I got: a wonderland theme was what I was going for.

I searched around in my stash of ribbon and found some wide satin ribbon that looked like candy cane stripes. I made bows to go on top of the doorway and the topiaries.

I added both the garlands to the topiaries and added the felt decorations to the swag above the door.Finally everything was done! The doormat didn't come in time so I haven't taped down the extension cords yet. Here is my photo:

This is the one step of the process that I didn't capture within my thread because I forgot to take pictures when there was still daylight!I pushed a wooden kebob skewer into two of the large felt ornaments, so they could sit atop of the topiaries. I simply fished the skewer into the hollow pipe; it stayed inside and held the ornament right in place. The other ornaments I wired into place with green floral wire. I placed them here and there up and down the greenery around the door.

The last things I need to do are to tape the wires down with some white duct tape; I'll pick some up today at Lowe's. I also need to place my door mat, but tracking says that it won't be here until tomorrow. So unfortunately I'll have to update again one I've finished those few things.
