@Adam_Cadmon1 Agreed. I see war (and violence in general) as the ultimate failure of everything that could have been done up to that point. It's not glorious, at the very best when it's against someone like Hitler it's just holding the line out of necessity to prevent *worse* harm.And when it's against innocent civilians in its entirety, there is no excuse.

@mybarkingdogs @Adam_Cadmon1 If anything I feel like WW2 and the fight against fascism gave a new life to the concept of an ennobling war that I wish would stop.I always think of Howard Zinn pointing out the crimes of the allies, the fact that fascist Spain stayed out of the war, and then pointing out this is the *best* war we've had, the *most* justified.It was necessary, but still an evil.

@cam @mybarkingdogs Man, say that again, please. There is no noble war. Necessary war, I guess, necessary because of a myriad of failures, but never noble.
