@SDF Do you know why notifications are doing an error 500? I have a lot of missing notifs and no idea what posts got boosted/faved/replied to. I thought it was Tusker on Iphone but I'm getting it on PC with Firefox too

@strypey Also, I'd suggest abolishing the concept of philanthropy entirely - it's nothing more than "indulgences" bought for reputation washing or wrongs already done.I'd actually argue for centralized to begin with moving to decentralized once it could work, but along the way things like direct compensation (e.g. if a company polluted it has to clean up that pollution rather than fund a museum) and an anon fund (e.g. unnamed philanthropic donations go to it and are given for need/at random)

@Adam_Cadmon1 Agreed. I see war (and violence in general) as the ultimate failure of everything that could have been done up to that point. It's not glorious, at the very best when it's against someone like Hitler it's just holding the line out of necessity to prevent *worse* harm.And when it's against innocent civilians in its entirety, there is no excuse.

@TheGreatLlama @shrugdealer This, and it's one reason I draw the line of "left unity" or even "critical support" to exclude the intentionally, avowedly queerphobica "leftism" that would demand I get back in the closet or die/that downplays or denies my healthcare needs as bourgeois or Western or modern or whateveris not, arguably, even left, and even if it is, why would I want to participate where I'm unwanted/suspected, when there's accepting places and people who are *also* left?

@nyquildotorg now they're kind of everywhere in most areas south of a certain point, and got normalized.If you're ever in say Southern California or Arizona or Texas and you find yourself being "bumped" by bees, or outright chased by a swarm - which is the next step after they fly at you - stop what you're doing and turn back and slowly walk back (if bumped) or *run* (if already being chased) the other way until you can shut yourself in something like a house or car

@stefano Agreed. Honestly I think it needs to be allowed that if you own a device, you can do whatever you want with it - install different OSes, repurpose it into something else, recycle the parts yourself into other devices, whatever.

That actually reminds me a LOT of how churches and Christofascists used COVID stuff here... they started with questioning lockdowns and claiming to be about reopening and mental health, hosting prayer rallies and singalongs etc to "help" and to evangelize at the same time, then upping Q and antimask rhetoric

And the foot in the door there *is* offering "help" but help that will always have strings - food aid from churches, being majorly involved in "aiding the homeless" (e.g. throwing a few scraps at the ones who pray and beg enough, supporting the cops in "cleaning up" the rest), "social events" etc)

"oh he was just there to investigate and expose" YEAH RIGHT(For the record, I want *anyone* who went to that island, unless they have the best proof possible they were a victim, out of public life in any way and preferably six feet under.Even if someone was oblivious enough to somehow not realize what was happening/abstain but also not report - that's its own indictment of their irresponsibility)
