@StillIRise1963 A while back I heard an interview with a sci-fi author who had been hired by a group of bazillionaires to consult on this exact question. What he told them—things like "Be good to people while you have all the power, and hopefully they’ll remember that when the tables turn"—was not what they wanted to hear. They just wanted automatic gun turrets and the like.

@StillIRise1963 I think the whole notion of bunkers and survivalism are adolescent fantasies. If something happens that’s big and bad enough to bring civilization crashing down, it will be communities who know how to cooperate that will survive to rebuild. Old men hunkering in caves filled with canned food and bullets will have nothing to contribute.
