Seriously, what is it about going to Boomers' houses and them always keeping it RIDICULOUSLY cold... I think I can count on one hand the number of Boomers houses that I actually felt comfortable in...Current place: the thermostat is set to about 65 F/18.5 C, but most of the house is even colder ... I've not been warm in 3 days now unless I'm buried in blankets despite wearing multiple layers ...

@JessTheUnstill 18.5C is probably the warmest my place ever gets. Most of the time we have it @ 10-15C

@JessTheUnstill maybe since Boomers are retirees, they're trying to save on heating costs since their incomes aren't going to go up ever again? Or maybe they just acclimating themselves in anticipation of the cold of the grave idk

@fcktheworld587 @JessTheUnstill 10-15°C?! Most if not all insurance companies here would throw a fit if there's any kind of damage that can be traced to frozen water pipes and they find out the temperature was kept under +15°C.Or maybe not throw a fit. Just bring out the big NO rubber stamp because "didn't keep house interior sufficiently warm to avoid damage".Well, that'd be kind of why someone would file a claim after having the water pipes freeze, would it not...? 🙂

"Hi, welcome to our home, let me take your coat!"*Removes coat, feels it's not that much warmer inside than it is outside*"Actually, no, I'll just keep my coat on, thank you very much..."

@mkj @JessTheUnstill water freezes @ 0. If the temperature starts falling that low, we've got issues other than the setting of the thermostat. I'm disabled, and therefore home all day. If something is up, and I'm alive and conscious, I'll catch it before we need to consider freezing water as an issue

@fcktheworld587 @JessTheUnstill I agree that it's excessive.
