Which discussed to death Linux argument do you wish would just finally be put to rest finally?Personally I'm all for dropping GNOME's stubborn decision to only support CSD

@BrodieOnLinux -Whether having a native linux port of a game actually matters all that much if it runs flawlessly in proton.-What a "good first time linux user distro" really entails.-"I still need X11 because XYZ reasons" where it would be put to rest because the Wayland devs simply fixed these use cases and there would be no serious reason left to use Xorg except stubbornness due to Wayland having all the features one would need from Xorg.-"Why do you need to do that?" - GNOME devs

@BrodieOnLinux Probably which package manager is best.Different package managers are better for different things. Like you're going to get least resource usage and best system integration with native packages. You're going to get best consistency from flatpak. (As in a consistent experience across distros). Best reproducibility and user control in nix. And so on, instead of trying to use just one for everything, I think people should decide which to use on a case by case basis.

@BrodieOnLinux That "Linux is not easy" when in reality its just that some were first introduced to computers with Windows and a lot are used to it. I had just barely used Windows in high school and even then it was just application opened but didn't interacted with it much not even installed a thing. My first proper OS interaction was android 5.1 and got used to it and then I got my first windows 10 laptop and I was like "wait, what is this place"

@technobaboo Even better, imagine agreeing to implement Valve's solution, alongside the rest of the Linux desktop and then changing your mind after the fact and pretending like that never happened

@technobaboo They did back when everybody agreed on it at the start, then they decided against it and now want a portal

@BrodieOnLinux You may have hit this one before but I still see it from time to time and its that unix philosophy 'originalist' dogmatism is counter productive outside of the cli.

@BrodieOnLinux What's particularly hilarious is that any Wayland compositor that supports running X11 applications needs to support server side decorations *at least* for X11 applications (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1594#note_2156168). After I learned that, the decision to not even consider supporting xdg-decoration makes no sense at all.

@BrodieOnLinux - The year of the Linux desktop- Linux market share is going up- Linux market share is going down- RedHat is the best distro - oh, wait, I think they solved that one themselves- Linux has to be like other OSs to compete- You aren't a hardcore Linux user if you're not using Arch - I even came across a video recently where they basically said: no, but yes- Just about any conversation about Ubuntu- You have to do it my way, because somehow because I suffered through 20 hours of debugging and problem solving, mine is the best solution of all

@BrodieOnLinuxLibadwaita in its current form, they should just make widgets not themable, I want my apps to have proper colors (not just accent), its disgusting to have one app with different color scheme. Maybe its nitpicking, but I hate it and I want it to stop
