       @mgeist (to rephrase, I think correctly):Canadian gov will cover 35% of journalism's digital and print labor costs: afaik, this was supposed to have been paid for by a link-tax on google + facebook   -- facebook said 'no' and turned off canadian's links to canadian news, and google is considering doing the same.   oops.Interesting that it costs $129m for 4 years.  seems low/managable.https://www.michaelgeist.ca/2023/11/bill-c-18-bailout-government-announces-plans-to-pa[…]-news-outlets-with-116-increase-in-tax-credit-per-employee/.
