Is anyone else with an iPhone getting this since the recent update? (I have not had 101 notifications in the last half hour or even since the update.)@Chronic-Yonic

@ChasingWaterfalls No, I use a pinned Safari bookmark. The last big iOS update made notifications work, but now this!

@Flick @Chronic-Yonic I use iPhone and I haven’t noticed any issues since the update? Is it maybe a cache issue? Stuck in a loop?

@Flick Hmm I’ll have to look into this. I’m so hesitant to upgrade as one of the upgrades tanked my battery until another update was made a few months later.

@Funsizescot1975 Maybe. I guess a reboot won’t hurt. I was finding sometimes I’d get the same notification repeatedly sometimes, and a reboot fixed that. (The blue autocorrect lines are weird, but I guess they do make it easier to see autocarrots!)

@Flick Weird! It looks like a loop. Normally a reboot and clearing the cache would fix. I am now wracking my brain trying to think of what it could be. Issue with safari isn’t impossible I suppose, but then I would think that would effect all sites you visit not just spinster.

@Funsizescot1975 I don’t think I have notifications on for any other sites, so it could well be a more general Safari issue. Hopefully it is, because that’ll get patched a lot quicker than if it’s just Soapbox!

@Flick @Funsizescot1975 The only reason Apple products are somewhat protected against viruses and malware is that the other type is more popular so there are fewer scammers targeting Apple. Apple is good, but not perfect. If you don’t have a built in scanner, at least check for unfamiliar apps, and so on. https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-check-iphone-for-virus-or-malware/

@Flick Here’s an idea… How about using a different browser to surf Spinster? See where this takes you, or if the problem is the same in both Safari and the other browser.

@LostInCalifornia @Funsizescot1975 It’s not jail broken and I’ve not installed any new apps in ages, and there was an iOS update overnight. The odds of it not being the update are very small.

@Flick @Funsizescot1975 Malwarebytes allows a free scan, and I believe it has a IPhone version. Up to you, but there is malware that gets passed from websites to phones all the time especially when people post links.

@Flick @LostInCalifornia Yeah it is unlikely to be malware, it’s not impossible I suppose, but yeah good practice is to check for anything weird, Odd apps in your list etc, but I am leaning towards the update being the issue.

@LadyMont @Flick @Funsizescot1975 That’s my point. It’s probably the update clashing with the app, but you should check Apple as often as you check Android.
