Experiencing intermittent network issues with ipfspodcasting. Some nodes seem to have stopped requesting work (can't connect?). Looking into it... Attempting to increase security until things calm down.

Things seem to be back to normal. Some nodes still not responding. If you notice your IPFS node is "stuck" or you receive a "your node went silent" email, please restart your node.@Medus

@cameron @Medus Easy fix. When I set up the node I changed the ssh port but never enabled it in iptables. Upon it's 1st reboot (today) The port change went into effect. All working now.Cameron are there any maintenance things I should be doing with my node to keep it healthy?

@Kolomona @Medus You can occasionally run "ipfs repo gc" to clean up old unpinned files. Your node shows ~20GB pinned, but using 37GB of space. The extra space is likely unpinned files that still exist on your node (unpinning doesn't really "delete" the file until garbage collection is run). This will be automated in a future node update, but "for now", you need to run it manually. For Start9/Umbrel users, there's a "Clean Up" action/button that initiates garbage collection.

@cameron @Medus Good to know, Thank you.Are there any downsides to making a cronjob for this?

@Kolomona Running too often likely reduces disk life : )It's mostly to clean up the unpinned free/48-hour hosted files. Or when you un-favorite a show (and unpin all the episodes). You could setup cron once a month, or every few weeks.

@cameron That freed up a bit of space.I want to upgrade my storage but my DO bill is already ridiculous with all my hair brained projects. In a perfect world DO would accept sats as payment and I'd be bringing in enough IPFS sats to pay for it.
