@strypey I remember a witty song from 1984 or so?"You're love is fine, but it won't pay the bills.I want money, that's what I want..."It seemed like such a refreshing anti-Beatles approach at the time.

@strypey Thanks!! The woodworking teacher at a community college, a young guy with a long Mohawk sort of haircut introduced me to Suicidal Tnedencies and that's the only time I heard the song.... I been so wrong all these years! But on the plus side it will be easier for me to introduce the song if it's from Beatles. Not gonna risk any names with Suicide in them over here... I think Japan (and Korea) are outliers with suicide rates.

@strypey BTW do you know where if the line"Rich punk rocket, silver spoon on a paper plate " is from Suicidal Tendencies? Somehow that line and the Beatles song all got jammed together with S.T. Maybe the woodworker guy lent me a mix tape or something...

@bsmall2 > do you know if the line "Rich punk rocket, silver spoon on a paper plate" is from Suicidal Tendencies? No idea sorry. I'm not that familiar with their stuff. In the 90s I was really into funk-metal, so I was more of a fan of their sister band Infectious Grooves;https://yewtu.be/watch?v=qt9_Pa62f8UThe only ST song I know well is Gotta Kill Captain Stupid. It was on the compilation album that introduced me to IG, as well as Bad Brains (Rise), Alice in Chains (Them Bones) and other great songs.

@strypey I got into the 1st song. The image that came to mind was Steve Martin in _The Jerk_ when he first hears white music... All the nostalgia had me looking into them, the 2017 Resurrection Fest live version of the song has Mike Muir looking good, like he's aging well... and and I rediscovered another name: Corrosion of Conformity.. I might disregard some reservation and jam Can't Bring Me down with Kris Kristofferson's Don't let the bastards get you down along with SInead O'Connor...
