@threalist @MountainJay @Phileosopher Many in the Orthodox church recently are new converts from both Protestant and Catholic churches, at least where I attend. People would benefit to learn more about the great schism, which came before the Protestant reformation and was due in large part because of Papal over reach.

@Anthropomorphize — yes, our parish is almost all recent (<20 years) converts. I always thought it was just a slightly different type of Roman Catholic church, and that only Greeks or Russians (or whichever culture was in the name) would want to attend. @MountainJay @threalist @Phileosopher We have people come from all over and as our Father noted, you meet the people where they need you. In our church we roll from Slavonic to English and back again. If you missed prayers, it will be repeated for you and you learn another culture and language as you go. I love it.
