       @inquiline The false equation "criticizing a country equals criticizing its people" is a standard authoritarian trick.It's particularly galling when people from my country (the US) fall for this trick, since so many evils have been committed in our name. Opposing those evils doesn't mean that we "hate America", if anything it means the opposite.

       @inquilineLet's start from the simple fact that it had been Hamas who has been traditionally the largest oppressor of Palestinians, starting from its armed coup in 2007, when they killed hundreds of Palestinians.Since then hundreds of Palestinians were disappeared by Hamas. And the last time Palestinians in Gaza protested against Hamas was... two months before 7 October.And yet, we saw no solidarity marches with Palestinians back then in European capitals.Curious selectivity, eh?

       @PapyrusBrigade It’s not Israel’s duty to remove oppressive gangs from the territory of Palestinian Autonomy. This should have been done by PAA already in 2007, after Hamas armed coup. Back then, PAA could have called UN peacekeeping force for help. Instead, for the last 15 years the UN had been feeding Hamas with fertilisers and pipes which they used to make Qassam rockets, and concrete which they used to build tunnels.As result, Hamas was able to launch the 7 October attack and right now Israel is not freeing anyone from oppression, it’s decisively removing an existential threat that was allowed to build up in Gaza.
