       There's a place called, "The Gibson Cafe" providing unfettered, unmonitored internet access. The cafe rents laptops with various privacy enhancements, so even people walking up and looking at your screen can't tell what you're doing.The MC goes there to get names and phone numbers from a list of addresses. Such activity is blocked at the public library, although not access to hard-core pornography.

       In Wand Smoke: Tales from the Labyrinth "Sins of the Father" and in "Nowhere" the Neverlanders hint at their capital city Hy-Brasil. It is a place no "shadowed humans" may tread, and is said to be a place of perfect joy, freedom, and magic.Of course, none of this is true. Hy-Brasil, and the walled inner portion, Rose City, are a hellhole of fay-animal gang violence, serfdom, state-surveillance, and political intrigue.The other cities in the Neverlands are about as bad and are equally sold as utopian paradises.

       Funny enough, the place of refuge is also one of the most dangerous places in their world. One of their countries lives in a dangerous climate normally, so when the world needs a safe place to retreat to, that's where they go. As long as they can survive the weather, it'll keep a lot of other dangers at bay. It'd be like retreating into the middle of Siberia and waiting for the weather to take care of your enemies.

       I can't think of any really ubiquitous refuge-type place, but most characters have some place they go for comfort. In "The Hands of Time," for Rivotra, that place is his family farm just outside of Fianarantsoa (southern Madagascar) and the nearby family shrines. These places have been through a lot and passed through many hands and only recently came back into the family name. Rifun sees them as places of refuge and acceptance.

       It was a place I once had in a dream. A lone, giant tree in the middle of a prairie. I made it Zeanna’s quiet place she’d visit as a kid when her life got too much. Once she could time travel, she occasionally visits it.
