@eriner Well, that's not good. You're still within acceptable enough numbers but they're not optimal. 90% is at the bottom of healthy. 96 bpm might be fine if you're busy or stressing but probably not a great resting heart rate.

@Dan_Ramos I had to get up to let the dogs out and grab the pulse oximeter. Resting heart rate is 75ish. Was only elevated because #icantbreathe and has just walked around.

@ringo I’m becoming more and more convinced that this is (or has turned into) pneumonia and would rather not let it fix itself, lol. I’m going to go get a chest xray tomorrow morning and probably start on antibiotics.

@Dan_Ramos idk man. I’ve been sick for 2+ weeks, it isn’t getting better and now I’m winded walking from one room to another. Something isn’t right. Likely pneumonia.

@eriner If so, you wouldn't know it from those numbers. The 90% is teetering on what's healthy but doing activity, getting over 90 bps and 90% O2 all seems pretty normal even for most normal healthy people.

@Dan_Ramos well, I’m telling you have had a mostly unproductive cough for 2+ weeks now and it’s not getting better. I’m winded walking from one room to the next. I can’t sleep laying down. Anything under 98-100% SpO2 is abnormal for me. I’ve been sitting at my desk for 15+ min now and I’m 92% SpO2 and 83BPM.Something is very not right. My dad is a cardiologist and thinks it is pneumonia. Getting a chest X ray tomorrow.

@eriner That's the thing.. given how borderline you were showing, you might want to have it checked. Might be fine and an aggressive cold but I wouldn't chance it. Glad to see you're getting it checked.

@Dan_Ramos @eriner My wife , the 30+ year nurse, says these aren’t *necessarily* indicative. 90 is low, should be 95+, unless you’ve got a respiratory condition. Probably want to see a doctor (NOT a NP/Nurse Practitioner).

@Bunnyslope @eriner Yep, exactly. It's borderline healthy. It's at the level where you might just want to have a doc take a look. Anything over 90% O2 is considered okay, 95+ is healthy.

@Bunnyslope @Dan_Ramos anything under 98% is low for me. Chest X ray to check for pneumonia tomorrow. The rest of my family got this illness before I did, but they were better after a week with only an occasional lingering cough. I’ve been going strong for more than 2 weeks and it hasn’t gotten any better.Weird that I don’t have a fever or chills, but I am extremely lethargic and exhausted. I’ve felt like a zombie for weeks now.

@Oneeyeking @ringo I have an albuterol sulfate inhaler in my pocket in case things suddenly become dire, but it hasn’t reached that point yet.I’m honestly hoping it’s a bacterial pneumonia so that I can just take the antibiotics and be rid of this thing.

@CattleBaron @Bunnyslope @Dan_Ramos nah, my guess is most likely viral pneumonia. Wife and kids were sick a few days before I got sick, but they’ve been over it for more than a week now. No significant changes to the environment.

@eriner @Dan_Ramos That would drive your heart rate up since you may not be taking in as much oxygen if fluid is in your lungs. Mine here half full in Marine Corps boot camp at one point. Drill instructors were kind enough to let me pass out in the squad bay bunk for three day to recover. I was 35 years younger then, though. Try lots of fluids, REST as much as possible, and you might need an antibiotic for the pneumonia.rest, rest, rest.

Famous last words, I’ve decided not to get a chest xray to confirm pneumonia.Chest xray results that say “yep, pneumonia” doesn’t really help me. I’m already 90% sure it’s viral pneumonia. Unless it gets worse, which might be indicative of now-bacterial pneumonia, there isn’t much more that I can do for it than the supportive care I’m already giving it.Im feeling better this morning than I was yesterday at this time.

@eriner Great therapy. I also had steroids when I had my bacterial pneumonia (and antibiotics, but it was bacterial): at first I didn't want them, because they reduce the immune system response, but the doctor convinced be that excessive inflammation was not good either, and he was right.BTW 1 kmg is 1 g...
