LGBA Conf. First, I'm glad LGBA exists, I really am. We obviously need an org. that's not been infiltrated by the trans menace and I think they are largely trying BUT some thoughts:1. Why did they platform some heterosexuals? This isn't about my personal views on anyone, but there was a distinct lack of decent lesbian representation again. It's not a huge expectation to think the lineup should be LGB given they are, you know, the LGB Alliance. 2. Ordinary people outside of London are priced out. Offer concessions/travel help like Lesbian Strength do. There's funds for that by now. Several friends said it was too expensive for them. 3. No livestream? 4. Can we please, please, please have people are who NOT middle - class academics who, in some cases, treat this debate as a thought - experiment when women's and lesbians lives are directly impacted. The reality of our lives is best described by those of us living it rather than people who have strolled through life oblivious to some pretty major issues. The same few names dominate and it's another reason why me and some friends didn't attend. 5. Platforming someone who many know is, or was, a friend/associate of Stephanie Hayden is not a good look. Yet again, several of us went WTF. There's a general feeling, and of course I'm blunt enough to say publicly what's said in groups, that it's become a very slick, corporate affair dominated by an elite few that appear at everything else. We don't want to be lectured at from a stage. We want to hear from ordinary people, have more engagement, and for people not to be priced out of their own movement.

@Sherri_Ingrey They seem to have confused wider GC issues with issues of LGB concern and, whilst there's significant overlap, I'm not really interested in yet more trans trans trans when I go to some lesbian events to get *away* from that.I've enormous respect for some of the heterosexuals who spoke but their spots should have been occupied by someone LGB.

@HebrideanHecate Well, their convos. with him were disclosed during litigation and were essentially "Here is some gossip about Louise's wife" (who couldn't stand any of them) which we think you can use against her. It was used against me but irrelevant to the case. Some of these people are a danger to, rather than defend, us.

Because I worked for working poor women and poor women and indigenous inner city women. They can't dox me now because I am retired. @DrLouiseMoody @Sherri_Ingrey Exactly that, and this is another issue for me, their disdain for women who do have kids, who have that added burden of having to think of them as well, and not just themselves and a can I risk this or not, not so easy when you have dependents. Which is why the behaviour of Ingala Smith to Lisa Muggeridge over the benefits thing was so outrageous. She did not see it at all, it isn’t that women who have kids are better or more special, it’s just that it gives an added layer of vulnerability should shit hit the fan or where income need is required.

If you only engage with fellow academics and "intellectuals" then, by definition, you cannot represent working class women. Charging £60 for a ticket reflects a degree of obliviousness to women's lives. I get that venue hire is expensive but they now have the means to assist others to attend. Same for the likes of WPUK. Oh and the Genspect conf. is now charging 125 dollars to view the livestream and 600 to attend. This degree of monetisation makes me uncomfortable. I don't expect anyone to do anything for free but there's a point at which orgs. are divorced from the very groups they purport to represent.
