LGBA Conf. First, I'm glad LGBA exists, I really am. We obviously need an org. that's not been infiltrated by the trans menace and I think they are largely trying BUT some thoughts:1. Why did they platform some heterosexuals? This isn't about my personal views on anyone, but there was a distinct lack of decent lesbian representation again. It's not a huge expectation to think the lineup should be LGB given they are, you know, the LGB Alliance. 2. Ordinary people outside of London are priced out. Offer concessions/travel help like Lesbian Strength do. There's funds for that by now. Several friends said it was too expensive for them. 3. No livestream? 4. Can we please, please, please have people are who NOT middle - class academics who, in some cases, treat this debate as a thought - experiment when women's and lesbians lives are directly impacted. The reality of our lives is best described by those of us living it rather than people who have strolled through life oblivious to some pretty major issues. The same few names dominate and it's another reason why me and some friends didn't attend. 5. Platforming someone who many know is, or was, a friend/associate of Stephanie Hayden is not a good look. Yet again, several of us went WTF. There's a general feeling, and of course I'm blunt enough to say publicly what's said in groups, that it's become a very slick, corporate affair dominated by an elite few that appear at everything else. We don't want to be lectured at from a stage. We want to hear from ordinary people, have more engagement, and for people not to be priced out of their own movement.

@Sherri_Ingrey They seem to have confused wider GC issues with issues of LGB concern and, whilst there's significant overlap, I'm not really interested in yet more trans trans trans when I go to some lesbian events to get *away* from that.I've enormous respect for some of the heterosexuals who spoke but their spots should have been occupied by someone LGB.

@HebrideanHecate Well, their convos. with him were disclosed during litigation and were essentially "Here is some gossip about Louise's wife" (who couldn't stand any of them) which we think you can use against her. It was used against me but irrelevant to the case. Some of these people are a danger to, rather than defend, us.

@HebrideanHecate @Sherri_Ingrey Lesbian Jenny claimed in a space that she's had to move after someone posted dog mess through her door.I've been sued three times, am out there under my own name, and not experienced anything like that (threats, yes, but I think they know it's unwise to pull an offline stunt). So, I'm a little sceptical of stories like this.

Demanding women reveal themselves who may well lose the roof over their heads if they do is astonishingly ignorant. Stock got a six figure payout from Sussex if she shut up and didn't go to tribunal. She's been cruising since. Most women are worrying about how to feed their children and keep warm rather than risking decloaking for the cause.

@HebrideanHecate @Sherri_Ingrey Everyone else is just JEALOUS innit and nothing at all to do with their behaviour which is impeccable and professional at all times and definitely does not include things like lunging at women drunk whilst your husband parents the child you barely see.But, seriously, I don't think some are *actively* excluding groups and women (I doubt there was a conscious decision to exclude KPSS from the Suella Braverman meeting) but it's the obliviousness to others which is part of the issue. If you only engage with fellow academics and "intellectuals" then, by definition, you cannot represent working class women. Charging £60 for a ticket reflects a degree of obliviousness to women's lives. I get that venue hire is expensive but they now have the means to assist others to attend. Same for the likes of WPUK. Oh and the Genspect conf. is now charging 125 dollars to view the livestream and 600 to attend. This degree of monetisation makes me uncomfortable. I don't expect anyone to do anything for free but there's a point at which orgs. are divorced from the very groups they purport to represent.

@HebrideanHecate @Sherri_Ingrey It's free speech when she gives troons a platform but everyone else is Nazi-adjacent if they speak to someone she finds objectionable.She was CC-ed evidence (solicitor letter spelling it all out which is how I got it to stop) about the sex pest (I was advised to cc on those who had started a very public trashing). Didn't reply. Told a friend she believed and sent good thoughts. Then did ... nothing. She's not obliged to call it out but there should have been an apology given she was demonstrably wrong.I once really admired her. Now I just see a bully and social climber.
