       @tek You ever work in a place with designated shredder deposit boxes within fifty feet of all working areas?I never minded the constant surveillance (I mean, we were all ostensibly on the same side), but god those boxes unnerved me for some reason. It was like admitting, "what we do here should be destroyed."

       @tek Every day I worked at Global Mega Super Tech, I'd have to walk down a hall that ended with a giant framed FBI wanted poster for the guy who sold the B2 bomber blueprints to the Russians.Anyone who'd publicly apply for a top secret clearance ... That's definitely a choice that can be made, but boy howdy, walking away is the smarter move.

       @alltherum Thing is, I’m all for national security stuff. I think there's the risk of having too many secrets, but there's information that shouldn't be available to the public. I could keep secrets to protect my country.It's just that there are so many lifestyle things that go along with it. For example, I don't even smoke weed, but I *could* if I wanted to because it’s legal here. And yet it’s still incompatible with that job. That just irks me. I'd resent that I arbitrarily couldn’t.
