This will mostly be for pets and livestock. Do you want your pets to eat insects? I’m curious and undecided. I guess I’d like it better if it were “whole food” insects instead of “high-quality insect proteins and lipids,” but even that is probably no worse than whatever is already in Friskies.https://thepostmillennial.com/tyson-foods-to-bring-bug-based-protein-to-us-markets-after-partnering-with-world-leader-in-insect-ingredients

@Cousin_Isobel A couple weeks ago I saw a brand of dog treats at the pet shop whose main draw is that they're made of grubs. Not sure if anyone is actually buying them.

@stingray @sandalphon I just hope all the possible effects have been thought through. I can’t put my finger on any reason insect protein is worse than eating other animal protein; I’m reading here that it has all nine amino acids. At the same time, there must be some reason why cultures around the world have consumed insects only as a small part of the diet, and not collected them in huge number to feed to their pets. Maybe just practicality? These days, I am making the traditional my default unless there is a compelling reason to prefer a modern innovation.https://entomofarms.com/eating-insects-and-amino-acids/
