@ThatCrazyDude I dunno. Hard to argue that people are somehow doing the wrong thing by doing what is required of them. The whole idea that you have to kill yourself, work for free, work the weekends, first one there, last one home… all that stuff for a “raise” that if you are lucky will keep pace with inflation?That’s madness.

@ThatCrazyDude I think k this used to have more relevance. Heck even when I was young it was still semi-relevant. Now days I can see the gatekeepers and ladder sawyers at work daily making sure no amount of hard work will get people ahead in the corporate world. I’ve seen plenty of folks work thier ass off for years and then get let go on a whim due to a re-org or COVID crap too many times too. Doing what your paid for isn’t wrong.

@ThatCrazyDude Also as a dude who has basically peaked out career wise (I’m a technical specialist as far up the food chain as I can get without having to manage people, which I’d prefer not to do) what exactly is the inncentive to kill myself and stay away from my family and miss my kids growing up?For what?Why would I do that?

@ThatCrazyDude On the on hand they call it "quiet quitting", but in the actual text she basically says she did what was required and didn't take on extra work. Isn't this literally what a job is?If you do more than what is on your job description, you should also be paid more. What's bad about that?

@ThatCrazyDude No, I agree. In fact, I don't really understand why she'd call that "quiet quitting", since she's "just doing her job", which isn't something new - it should be the default.I guess she just want's attention and chose to ride the wave of attention that term is getting.
