Intel labels its processors with a combination of meaningless brand names like "Celeron" & "Core" and meaningless internal codenames like "Kirby Lake" & "Sandy Sky", the latter of which I think come from the place names of parking lots and alleyways near to the corporate headquarters building (? unclear).Having two schemes is an extra-great system because every online support forum & blog is free to choose a third designation, like "15th generation", and use that instead.#communicationing

@n8 ark.intel.com is good for looking this stuff up; it'll tell you the Code name for a given product name. The 'Celeron' thing though is a separate metric - it's the brand name for 'cheap shit' version for all the generations. (Although I've never quite figured out whether Pentium is now used as shitter than Celeron or the other way).(AMD use Italian cities for Core generations, but I don't think anyone has figured out an order)
