       @srslypascal Manufacturing isn't 4x the other sectors' emissions, it's more like 1/4. China makes less than 2x what the US does, and its emissions are much larger than 2x US's. It's the whole gamut.

       @sj "less than 2x" in what regard/metric? Financial value of the goods produced? Physical mass? Physical volume? Number of employed persons? Population?The way I see it, China has about double the annual emissions of the US, but over four times the population, so the average Chinese emits only about half as much as the average North American.And even this is still a very generous perspective towards the US, since it ignores historically accumulated emissions.
