@hehemrin i tried it out for a while earlier in the year, but the discussions on there were only about cryptocurrency or the nostr platform itself.. ..no other conversations of substance [yet].. ..the concept is cool, but i'm not sure it will expand out into other online communities.. ..time will tell

@hehemrin @e33io it is a different approach to decentralization. Your identity is bound to a public/private keypair, not to a domain. Also, payments are quite well integrated already. Discussion really is limited to Nostr dev and Bitcoin. At this moment, Mastodon has better content, and arguably a better onboarding experience for non technical users.

@e33io @jraedisch Thanks! Now I have a better very high level understanding of the concept for Nostr. I think it is similar approach to ideas for identity/identification where you only need to share the needed info, or to show you own something, where the key pair is connected to you and also block chain can trace how ownership changes. I think... Such topics has sometimes been on the agenda in Reality 2.0 pod I usually listen to.

@hehemrinJust set up my nostr a few days ago.Unlike @e33io my experience was not that Bitcoin’y .. as with Mastodon it 100% depends upon who you follow .. plenty of people there who rarely chat about Bitcoin.If you're new you might first have to vade through some of the many Bitcoiners who undoubtedly are there .. but given a few days patience, you'll find enough other content, I'm quite sure.
