       @wifstenBecause anything manufactured in EU will be 10x more expensive due to cost of labour and high environmental standards. For the same reason it would make sense to mine our own resources in EU (like rare earth metals) as it would be much cleaner than in China, but of course any mining operation will be immediately protested by EU "environmentalists", who prefer mining and industry to happen in third countries, where they can't see them.
