@grammargirl some people have a million tabs. i am paranoid and have the browser set to clear cookies on close, so i dump my browser a million times a day

@grammargirl I just closed a tab. I'm now down to 85 in my main Firefox instance. On another desktop, used more for development, I have ten or so tabs open to various web projects and searches. My main problem is that I'll open something, think "Yep, I'll need to get back to this one day within the next year or so. I'll leave it open." and then do that again a few days later. To be fair to myself, I *do* return to some of them later, sometimes much later.

@alexhall Same here. They serve as some kind of extra to-do list, and I do eventually go back to at least 1/3 of them and finish something later, even if it's much later.

@grammargirl To a certain degree, yes. One has more routine pages and services open (email, docs, time sheets, etc.) while the other is more task-based (Jamf, Trello, etc.). With two monitors Iāll put each window in a different one and work from both. Thatās especially important to me when creating documentation, doing self-paced training, and other stuff.

@grammargirl Is there a way to count tabs and/or windows quickly?On Mac I've got 39 tabs open in Safari, 3 in Firefox, 29 windows, 24 apps. Over on iOS I've got 500 Safari windows open at all times.Maybe someone should write an app called āEmpathy for the machineā to give stats. I subscribe to the @siracusa school of thought that the computer should serve me not the other way round... of course I have a sixth of the 96GB he has.Open ALL the windows and tabs we won't judge you.

@dxzdb @siracusa LOL! I shut down my computer every night, so I have to reopen all the tabs every morning, and when I do that, it tells me how. many there are. There's a prompt that's something like, "Reopen 47 tabs?"
