Dropbox enabling this by default = not cool. Guess I need to finally set up Syncthing or similar and do it all myself.

@ummjackson wow. I mean I guess "never used to train models" is something (assuming it is true, and they don't change it later...), but still, no thanks. (if i even used dropbox)

@Ailuridae I just don't like the idea of my private/personal files being sent plain and unencrypted in any shape or form to a third-party. It's a security and privacy issue waiting to explode a few years from now. Watch them say "oh we accidentally had logging enabled" 12 months from now or something.

@ummjacksonSyncthing is great for syncing between devices or even to a server, but if you want something more like Dropbox/Onedrive/Icloud to share and collaborate privately, checkout Nextcloud, Seafile, Proton Drive, or Skiff. The first two are self hosted and provided as service by some providers. The latter two are available only as a service. Other options exist. I saw AI coming a long time ago and went with Nextcloud. @Ailuridae

@Bernard @Ailuridae Thanks for the pointers, appreciate it. I've heard good things about Nextcloud, will check it out! :)
