It's a bad feeling when you buy a used LP from the shop, just to come home to find there's a scratch on it you didn't see before. 😞 Doesn't happen often, but when it does....ugh#firstworldproblems #vinyl

@Andylikesguitars 80's metal haha. Found Dokken's 'Under Lock and Key'. That being said, I did the 'toothpick trick' on it, and it actually plays now!Had a Charles Lloyd album, same situation and it worked pretty well on that too.

@Andylikesguitars basically taking a wooden toothpick and following the grooves around where the skip is. This helps fill in the gaps and straightens out the parts of the groove edges that are damaged. Obviously I would only do this on certain items. I only paid $7 for this and it was already damaged, so....

@cprompt for me, if a defect disrupts my listening, I can't ignore it. So a bad attempt at repair is no worse than the original problem. I'll try it.
