       This is how it looks from above, where a Siemens #EWSD used to be switching millions of calls for decades. It's now nicely documented, labeled and disassembled and will be carefully reassembled in the home of a private collector. Something sadly no museum known to me has managed to preserve so far. #retronetworking

       @penguin42 It had no direct subscriber lines attached, but just connected to a (large) number of V5 access networks geographically distributed a Ross a city. I don't know how many subscribers were once attached to those, but we might be able to determine the capacity of the switch. At the moment I don't know. I also have no idea which SIP softswitch replaced it and how large that is physically
