       @DataDrivenMD It would help if our alleged public health authorities made a serious effort to educate people instead of basically saying, "Get vaccinated and everything will be fine." People are largely ignorant because those charged with educating them have refused to do their f**king job.

       @BruceMirken @DataDrivenMD Maybe I'm being too pessimistic, but I don't think the general public is going to change their consensus about the pandemic being over based on some information about long Covid. I think that "get vaccinated" is probably about as good as it's going to get for something that the CDC and other health orgs can recommend and get the public to go along with.

       @BruceMirken I think they are being pragmatic about what is the absolute best thing to do vs what they can get the public at large to do.  We barely got people to wear masks, distance,  and vaccinate when 3000+ people a day were dying. I don't think there's much chance of doing the same now.

       @BruceMirken I'm "admitting" that they're in a tough spot where "what would be best" collides with "what people are willing to do". I'm very reluctantly to criticize public health organizations for that reason. It's really easy to sit behind a screen and say what should be done, and quite another thing to actually have responsibility in the matter and have to deal with the practical concerns.

       @jimvernon And it's quite another thing to be living with Long Covid and know that official failure to give out accurate public health information puts you in danger every time you leave the house.
